【Sculpture】Magui

Explanation of the work
A spirit that uses people's feelings as its sustenance. It devours anxiety and sadness and calls forth happiness. At times, it responds to strong emotions with an action like sprouting, and the person feeling these emotions is overwhelmed by their power.
Whales have advanced intelligence and social culture, and they are said to suffer in the same ways as human beings. In addition, they have been worshipped as gods since ancient times in many parts of the world, praised in various ways, and had deep connections with humans.
I made this work by borrowing the shape from a whale and imagining a being with an understanding of the human heart which can call forth happiness in a loud voice no matter how far away it is.
