"Hachimanbori Monument" is on display here.
In 1985, children from Oku learned by looking at a map from the Edo period that people drew water from a river in this area to grow rice. In response to the children's wish to "leave something behind as a reminder of our ancestors' great achievement," their parents took action, the initiative spread through the area, and a monument was built here in this place where Hachimanbori once was.
