Around 1988, children at Ogu Miyamae Elementary School were shown a map showing that they were drawing agricultural water from Otonashi River to Hachiman Shrine, and saw that many rivers were no longer flowing. This promenade was established in order to inform people of these rivers, to know the knowledge of our elders, and to pass on this information to the next generation.
